HR leadership shaped by experience inside the business.

Ninebark & Co. was founded to help companies solve people and organization issues in the context of the business they are actually running.

Jeramy Johnson

Founder & Principal Consultant

Jeramy Johnson is an HR executive and strategic advisor with more than a decade of experience across business operations and HR leadership.

He spent his career inside a Fortune 500 technology and energy management company, moving from customer care and field service operations into HR leadership. He supported more than 3,000 employees in the United States across a $2B+ services business, including commercial teams, field operations, and manufacturing. He later served as HR leader for a $250M global software portfolio with approximately 1,500 employees.

His work has included workforce strategy tied to a $1B growth ambition, organizational design, post-acquisition integration, compensation investment, talent and succession planning, and HR infrastructure. Results include scaling a critical technician pipeline from 152 to 400 hires, reducing attrition from 14% to 9%, securing $6M in workforce investment, nearshoring more than 40 roles, and consolidating five legal entities.

Before moving into HR, Jeramy managed customer-facing and field service teams and identified $8M in deferred revenue tied to operating process breakdowns. That experience is central to how he works today. He looks at the product, customer, financial model, and daily work before deciding whether the answer is a people system, an organization change, a manager decision, or something outside HR entirely.

Through Ninebark & Co., Jeramy supports services businesses, software organizations, and mid-market companies that need senior HR judgment and direct partnership without unnecessary complexity.

Our philosophy believes the product lifecycle should drive the people lifecycle.

Ninebark & Co. was built around a direct principle: people systems should follow the business strategy and the product lifecycle.

A company needs different roles and skills when a product or service is being designed than it does when that offer is being launched, scaled, delivered, supported, renewed, or retired. The workforce has to move with that reality.

Workforce planning, hiring, training, compensation, performance, succession, and organization design should follow the product lifecycle. When they do not, HR can improve a process without solving the business problem underneath it.

That does not mean people come last. It means people decisions are made with enough business context to be useful. The goal is to build the capabilities the company needs, when it needs them, while giving employees clearer roles, better support, and a real path to contribute.

Experience that informs the work.

Ninebark works best with leaders who want a direct answer and are willing to look at the business issue underneath the HR symptom. Jeramy will challenge assumptions, ask for the financial and operating context, and say when a proposed HR solution is unlikely to fix the problem.

The approach is collaborative, but it is not passive. The goal is to make a clear decision, build what is needed, and leave the organization better able to operate without creating dependency on the consultant.
